Nine Hours from Oswego is an autobiographical road trip in poetry and
prose that begins with imagining my parents' lives before I was born, then
moves from childhood, adolescence, and adulthood towards parental decline
and my own parenthood. It is a narrative about moments that
matter - occasionally funny, often difficult and unplanned. At its
core, this is a book that names the hurting, praises the loving, and recognizes
the intertwining of both. I do think you're likely to find something
familiar and, I hope, meaningful, in this collection.
